It's not a waste of time but definitely very unlikely goals of management. Like said, small tracks of land are incapable of "managing" deer but are very good at attracting and building deer than managing. Those food plots will offer nutrition and food for the deer in the cold months and they vastly need it. In the hot months, they will need it even more. You are very lucky to have that piece of land. Do all you can with it and build a good herd.
