If you know exactly where you are going to hang your stand, do so and look for a couple places where you feel like you can get a shot at deer. Then, get down and clear your shotting lanes so that no obstructions are present to deflect your arrow--you'll probably have to knock down a few corn plants so make sure it's OK with the landowner before you do it. Corn leaves can and will throw your arrow off course -- don't try to shoot through the it.
