i was wondering if there is an alternative to having to completly replace a 50 caliber barrel or if it is possible to have the barrel bored out and sleeved. has anyone ever heard of this? Thanks
There are a number of barrel smiths who can sleeve a barrel. This is a very practical approach for low-pressure guns like .22 rimfires and black powder weapons. Another alternative would be to go to a larger caliber-have it rebored and re-rifled. This of course requires a barrel that has sufficient wall thickness to safely go to a larger bore size....
