I've taken 3 elk with the 180gr failsafes (no moose and don't use em for deer). It has been my experience that they go completely through an elk, regardless of shot angle. IMO they are a great bullet forelk, and would work equally well on moose. I bought another 30-06 (Win M70 Classic Stainless)a few days back, and will shoot both the failsafes and some 180gr NP to see which is most accurate.Either will cleanly take elk if the shooter does his part.
