THIS post is a prime example of why the whole "DIY borelapping" stunt is just that. Todays machining technology makes such undertakings absolutely un-necessary and a complete waste of time and money. Sure there are gains to be made but ONLY when done properly and by someone who knows what the hell they are doing. Furthermore we are talking about hunting rifles, not competition matchgrade equipment. It simply isn't needed. If a bore is so poorly built that it needs lapping and deburring than why bother buying something so poorly made?
Sorry for the money you wasted but I suspect you have learned a mistake that will be worth MUCH more than the $300 barrel you now have to replace,

You ruined enough "stuff" with your curiosity, don't go ruining and laming up game by trying to shoot them with a screwed up barrel. Use the barrel for what it is good for now, behind the seat of your truck for a billyclub. NOT for attempting to take an animals life with it!
