Too much room for error. Your right Muzzy 125, gut shots happen but with proper woodsmanship, gut shot animals should be recovered. You won't recover an animal shot through the snout, jaw, etc and that deer is going to die. It is a very low percentage shot, one I say isn't worth taking. IF the deer is under your stand, the vitals should be a piece of cake if you consider a head shot easy.

Most archers have trouble hitting an area the size of the vitals, why on earth should anyone attempt a smaller target?
