Default Ever use blocking scents to steer deer to you?

I was just over reading T.R. Michels' site and read about blocking scents, where you use something with strong human (or dog) odor to steer deer towards you. For example, if there are several paths that a deer could use, you place dirty socks or whatever on a few of the paths in hopes that the deer will avoid those and use the one you decided to set up on. I have read about putting brush in a trail to divert a deer's path to the one you want to use, but have never heard of this approach.

Has anyone used it, or know of anyone that has? If so, how did it work?
