Using oneof the new bonded bullets with ballistic tips, I would comfortable with engaging an elk out to 400 yards. Closer would be better, though . . . . .
I don't feel comfortable engaging them with a 300 weatherby at that range ..sure wouldn't holding a popgun in my hand
