Default RE: Ignorance was bliss at the Wal-Mart last night...

I see a handful of folks who have found the "needle in the haystack" and gotten hooked up with a halfway clued in type at Wallyworld. For the far majority I see the other end of the spectrum, some pimple faced kid with cotton candy in his braces or some laid off factory worker who has been punching widgets out for the last 20yrs and now has to work at the very store that probably put them out of work to begin with.

As for those who make fun of the people at Wallyworld, newsflash: THE JOKES ON YOU!!! The very fact that you would admit to shopping there if you so hate the "help" or expect anything more than what you pay for (service is in direct proportion to what you pay for) speaks volumes of your "sensibilities".

Another misnomer, there NEVER HAS BEEN, nor will there EVER BE a "salesperson" at ANY big box discounter. They don't hire quality, adept salespeople because such people don't have to work for such wages and hours. Quality salesmanship is in MUCH higher demand than simply "hiring on" at Wallyworld. The folks in the blue vests, while probably good people and might actually try and help you from time too time, are NOT sales people. They are simply traffic directors and stock retrievers.

If you want a gun at the cheapest price, then Wallyworld will have your product. IF however you would actually like some help or information or might actually like some sort of work done on the gun in the future (be it custom or warranty) then by all means check with your local proshop FIRST! And I know, there ARE some real arrogant, a-holes hiding behind the counters in some pro-shops. BUT they quickly are going the way of the dinosaur. The competition that is todays business sector mandates service with a smile. The old "lean back and tell you want you need" kind will be gone by decades end, as most are already on their way out now if not already. The good ones are like anything else, there for the longhaul...

Thank you drive thru,
RA
