I myself have switched from a .338 to a 7 mag also but he asked about a suitable rifle for grizzly. When you throw those nasty critters in the mix then I don't think the .300 is overkill. I have found my 7mm rem mag kills game just as quickly as my .338 did. The sad reality is being an easterner I will likely never hunt grizzly so I don't worry much about grizzly guns.
