Default RE: VA hunting club

Butch when you started at Lychburg and headed up 29 to Amherst that whole part of the state is Hound hunting that is all they do, but shortly past Amherst there would have been Route 151 take a left and the whole left side is a two week deer season and no hound hunting is allowed it runs for miles and if you go about 10 miles you could hang a left at Piney River and head up to the National forest if you are interested in checking it out I can give you better directions but you would find some peace and quiet up there. You may could check with some farmers on that side of151 for permission as they arn't as pressured by the guys looking to run dogs. But all in all Hunting it is getting tough to find in Va. My cousin use to hunt that side and took a monster 10 pointer a few years back.

VaSavage, Never Heard of Blue Tick Beagles but if they run rabbits I wouldn't get rid of them goodRabbit Dogs are hard to find. Where in Woodbridge do you live?

PhoenixMA where do you live?

ButchA I edited this after I read your cooment from the state trooper about the size of deerI believe he is right in his comment about peaks of otter but that is not they only place for big deer. Back in the 40's and 50's Va. staterd a restocking program (We had no Deer) we were buying the deer from Alabama and Pennsylvania and as you know the deer are bigger in Pa. so even today the counties that were stocked with the Pa. deer produce the bigger bucks.

I will keep in touch
