I agree with bigboar. We have a little of evrything down here. I have found treestand hunting to be difficult unless you use a ladder stand (trees down here are hard to climb sometimes) but trees put you over the palmetos. I found cabbage palms to be about the best to climb! You get used to looking for snakes. And when you can't hunt the fishing is phenominal from backwater snook and reds, to offshore dolphin, canal talapia bowfishing, and some of the best freshwater bass fishing in the world. The only downfall to FL is it is rare to find a trophy buck! And yes the rain does kick the hogs up but sometimes when the rain sets in it rains hard, then gets scalding hot when it quits!
