Default RE: Tree stand or Ground blind?

For me the lay of the land really dictates it. If there are just no decent trees around, a ground blind is the only way to go. I like to be on slightly elevated ground though. Never hunted from a store-bought blind. I usually just stack up brush and logs found in the area. They're ultra easy to get into since you don't have to carry a darn thing other than your weapon (ie climbing stand, harness, etc) but I usually bring along some sort of portable chair for comfort.

I was just reading an article about elk hunting. This outfitter makes several ground blinds (in a lincoln log fashion) from 100 yards to half a mile apart. What they do is, setup a hunter in one of the blinds than have another hunter stalk their way around the property, moving from blind to blind. Many times the guy stalking will push elk right past the first guy sitting in the blind.
