Default RE: How the .243 stacks up

That the .243 is just as good or better than most guns.

Heres how this debate goes with you naysers.

I say it's a good gun, you say nah too little not enough penetration. I post SD and BC numbers you say that doent mean nothing.
I say the .243 better than a 30-30 it has more energy you say that doesnt mean nothing.
I say it's as good as a 7-08 you say 7-08 gots more energy. That means something.
Energy means nothing when I compare it to a turdy turdy but energy is everything when I compare it to a 7-08. Well which is it. then when ballistics are about the same you say oh the bullet isnt big enough around. WTF ?????????????????
Lets get the record straight right here and now. I have NEVER said anything about penetration. I have NEVER said anything concerning the 30-30. And I have NEVER said anything about it being to small. All I was showing, is the 243 in not the top of the cream bucket. It is a fine round. It will kill deer. But it certainly is not the absolute best choice out their. That is all nothing more.

And you are the one that says caliber does not matter. You said nothing is gained from a 7mm over a 6mm. I was simply pointing out that the 7-08 has better BC, and has more energy. Just refuting your statement. I even stated, if I could use a rifle for deer in this state, it would be a 243. Because I could use it for a dual purpose. Good luck to you sir, I am done with this.
