Along with spine, you need to consider the arrow weight with a recurve. I like to stay around 8-10 grains per lb--the bow will be quieter, have less vibration, and last longer. Going too light will be similar to a dry-fire, and your bow won't last.

Pulling a trad bow is a lot different than pulling a compound--no let-off, no stopping point. You will have to establish an anchor point to be able to shoot consistently. A clicker might help you with a consistent draw length.

The arrows you have will probably be too stiff. If they are borderline, you can buy heavier points, but you may have to get different arrows. Definately go with feathers over vanes.
