Default RE: Broadhead Tuning

ORIGINAL: Landjaeger

I just replaced my 100 gr. field tips with some 125gr. tips. That brings my total arrow weight to 565gr.. By my calculations it puts me at 8% foc. Using the Magnus Stinger 125gr heads will put me just short of 8% with the length difference. As I understand it I need to be in the 7 to 10% range.
I shot the 6 arrows that I have prepared at 20 through 60 yards. (field tips) Out to 50 yds I am clustering them in the bullseye if I do my part. I started to fall apart at 60, partly due to a varying crosswind. I'll try again tomorow with the 125gr. Stingers and take it from there.
My only concern now is that I only have enough sight adjustment to get to 60 yds. What will I do if that buck passes my stand at 80 yds.?
Seriously though, I have my arrows numbered and starting tomorrow I will begin recording all of my broadhead shots. Does broadhead orientation to the arrow make a difference. Would turning the inserts have an effect?
