That government land auction doesn't look like it is tied to the government at all. Those are just realty listings on marginal land. The 40 acres in Wy. near the Red Desert, is just that, desert, no water, no power, no roads. Those parcels might be miles and miles from the nearest pavement and little likelyhood of finding any water. But if that are what you are looking for go for it! There might be wildlife but you still have to draw for a tag.
