RE: "You kill Bambi?" - what are your responses?

I ask if they're vegetarian. When they say no, I smile and I say, oh so you prefer to hire a hitman to do your killing. 99% of the time they're laughing at this point. And I say look I hire a hitman too for most of my meat but I like to do some of the killing myself. And then I explain that I don't take every shot opportunity that I have, that I pass on most shot opportunities and that mostly I just love being out there.....
Now admittedly I've some good people skills but I've found that if you share just a bit of your passion for "being out there" with most folks they'll leave that discussion, with just a bit more respect for you and maybe, just maybe, a softer view than the advesarial tone that they started with.
We should not shrink from these types of challenges but view them as opportunities to educate and to do our part in improving the perceptions and allaying misconceptions regarding our sport.
This stewardship assuredly rests with us.

I like this post......
I usually ask if they know where there sore bought meat comes from. Then I describe a feed lot to them....then ask who had it better, the deer or the cow.
