Default RE: Classic Bow Report: Darton Maverick

Jeff, you are really confusing me! Yesterday it seemed like a good idea to look for a used Defiant, now today, it's a Maverick. I have shot Dartons off and on for several years. The first time I shot one was a Viper that I shot along side a Hoyt Superslam. The arrows that shot so well from my #65 Bear First Strike looked like wet noodles coming off of that Viper. It was a little noisy compared to the Hoyt (which I bought, unfortunately).
Within 6 months, I saved up enough to buy an Excel which quickly became my #1 bow and made the Hoyt expendable. To make a long story short, I bought a new Viper two years ago, and somehow, they made them much quieter, even before I put on the limbsavers and leeches. My Viper is easily the 2nd quietest compound I have owned (next to a Carbon Force by HCA. My latest bow is one that I really like a lot. It is a Proline Mountain Bow with the ultra-smooth drawing CPS 2. Very nice bow to shoot with its 7" brace and a very torque free riser. I was always leery of short bows, but this one is 36" (not really that short anymore) and is the best shooting bow I have owned yet. Just wondering if it is OK to post a boring (but not as long) bow report when I get my Discovery? Keep up the great work, always interesting to read your posts.

Avoid the inevitable until it is absolutely unavoidable!
