RE: Remington 1187
Not for me. Three of my friends had nothing but problems with theirs. Failure to cycle with all of them and two that had many broken parts. Some people love them and have had good luck with them. Besides the poor quality. The gun weighs a ton, has an akward forward balance for me, and has less features than other guns in it's class. For about the same price there is the Franchi 912 or Winchester SX2.
If you want a gun that is for waterfowl and upland I would recommend a 3" gun. Even though I like a 3 1/2" for waterfowling I would not want to carry one while upland hunting. The 2 3/4" shell is king for the upland and some 3 1/2" models will have problems cycling the lighter loads.
