What a great day! Got up looked out in the field and saw a turkey all by its self. I got out the spotting scope took a look at him and he had a real nice beard probly 10 inches. He was all by himself i found that odd. Well i watched him for a few mins then all of a sudden he gobbled. There is nothing like that first gobble of the year boys wow am i pumped. He started to strut a little didnt go into full strut but pretty close. He eventually just wondered off eating. Then about 2 hours later a group of 6 jakes a tom and 12 hens showed up not sure if it was him or not. Just thought id share my excitment with you guys.

A couple of southern states are open already. I'm not gonna be able to hunt here until the end of April.
