Well this is my first turkey contest but it looks to me like some of us have all shot good size gobblers but I don't know what it takes to win!

My Biggest turkey is the one in my avatar. I shot it two springs ago it had a 10 3/8 in beard 21 1/2 pounds and 1 1/8 in spurs. It was a great hunt because i was hunting with my older brother (Siman08/OH) and we got the shot on film. This year im planning to take a gobbler with my bow on film.

It takes patience. Its a lot of fun. Last year my team was in first for a while then at the end the 2nd place team must have gotten a nice one and bumped us to 2nd. Just hunt hard and be patient. We have a real good shot here. Everyone seems like good turkey hunters.

My biggest weighed in a 25.5 lbs.It had a 12 1/4 beard along with an 1 1/2" spur on the left and 1 7/8" on the right. Crazy thing was that he only had two toes on his left foot. I have him mounted in full strut. I've killed 4 other toms over the years with 10" beards or larger.

My dad who doesn't log in much, but is on our team (trophyhunter60) has a room full of beards, spurs and fans. He's got the patience of Jobe. I once hunted with him while he worked a bird for over 2 hours with a slate call without ever changing set-ups. The bird finally gave in and he showed him a hot load of copper plated #6's. No doubt in my mind that he will have a nice bird for our team. I will be spending the opening week down at myparents, so hopefully both of us will score opening weekend.

Ya i plan on taking 2 days off for my 2-week hunt. Whats awesome with my crazy shift scheduleis that if i do it right, i can take 2 days off and get 7 in a row off! That should be very nice for hunting!

I will be out April 24/25 and then every other weekend. My time will be limited in the woods this year but I will make the most of my time out there hearing toms. I dont come on here much since they changed over the server because everything just takes too much time from page to page. I will check back about every week or so........Rob
