Team 6 - "Gobble Stoppers"
#132
Well tomorrow is the day. I have the car packed and ready to go. Monday i saw one of the bigger toms that I have ever seen right next to the spot where i am going. The weather is suppose to be a little cold but with no wind and sunny skies it will be perfect. Wish me luck

I had a pretty good but long hunt. I didnt shoot anything but i had plenty of opportunities. I had 4 two year old toms at about 3 yards twice. I also had a jake about 5 feet behind me just going nuts, he was gobbling at everything. I was waiting on two bigger toms to work there way up the hill i was on but they just sat out about 70 yards away and strutted for there hens. Then to ad insult to injury they wouldnt leave so i could get to class on time. I ended up having to run off a good tom and a had full of jakes so I could get out. All in all it was a pretty good hunt i will have to wait untill saturday to go again.

I was hunting in a pasture that has not been grazed yet so the grass is about knee high and i was in a ghillie suit. When turkeys gobble that close you can almost feel it, it was pretty cool.

Yea I didnt really think that I would have to worry about that since my class is at 11:30. Saturday will be a different story I will have plenty of time to wait them out.
I am also going to take a camera along too so you can see what i am working with, I should be able to get some good close ups.
