Today, I broke down and purchased a muzzy zero effect rest for my mathews legacy. I had a trap door on it prior to this. Since I put my new string (winners choice) and have done all the tuning, the trap door has presented too many problems in tuning. I put the zero effect on today and it shoots better already. Just wondering if anyone who has used these 2 rests has a preference and/or thinks I made a better choice with this rest. Thanks.

Well, with the trap door, I was shooting woodchucks at 50yds consistently. But, I'm just wondering if the zero effect is a more preferred rest among everyone here and what thier experiences are with both.

What does it matter what everyone else's preferences are? If the Zero Effect works better for YOU, then that's all you need to know.
Even as crippled up as I am, can't nobody run fast enough to give me ANY dropaway rest. That's MY preference.

In some part, the fall-away is supposed to remove some of the problems of grip, form & torque.
To activate with inertia (like the trap door) may sound like less trouble & less assemble. But the minute changes in form, grip, & torque we thought we may be helping to some degree, may trigger this rest at different points.
My opinion on any fall-away is that it should fall away (before) the acceleration pressure on the string comes to an end(8-10” of the power stroke, depend on draw length), so the bow does not become loose in ones hand & moves forward. This is where one may rid some of the sins of the bow hand. But this is perhaps the tug, that triggers the trap door.
