How to remove peep sight?

I want to take the peep sight off my bow string, I have the kind that goes in between the string. Would like to know how I have to take it off. Does the string go back together by itself?

I found the easiest way if you don' t have a bow press is to take a fat pencil,pen,etc. and insert on both sides of the peep. Be sure not to cut the fibers of the string though. The peep should pop out then re-wax the bowstring where the peep was.

2 butter knives work well also. Just slide the blade end in, and keep going up to the handles.
