Pennsylvania Varmint Hunt Information
To anyone interested in an application for a varmint hunt to be held on Jan. 24, 25 &26.
Entry Fees and Prizes:
Coyote- $10.00 Entry Fee- Prize for heaviest Coyote is 50% of money collected.
Foxes (Red and Grey)- $10.00 Entry Fee- Prize is 25% of the money collected for heaviest Grey and 25% for heaviest Red.
Raccoon- $10.00 Entry Fee- Prize for heaviest Raccoon is 50% of the money collected.
Crows- $10.00 Entry Fee- Prize for most Crows is 50% of the money collected.
Contest is being held by the Southern Cove Rod and Gun Club. Registration deadline is January 21, 2003.
Rules for the hunt:
Hunt starts Jan. 24 at 12:01 am. (Friday) and ends Jan 26 at 2:00 pm (Sunday).
When hunting in groups each person in the group must be registered.
Participants must have a valid Hunting License and or Furtakers License, and they will be checked at weigh-ins.
Calls and Dogs can be used for the hunt but no trapping is allowed.
Areas that are designated for the hunt are all counties in Pennsylvania.
The Southern Cove Rod and Gun Club reserves the right to have an autopsy performed on the animal if we feel the animal may have been kept in a pen or was illegally taken or for any other reason. A veternarian will be available to enforce this regulation.
Each participant that is involved with this hunt must abide by the Pennsylvania Game Commission Laws and Rules.
Official weigh in is at 2:00 pm Sunday Jan. 26, 2003 at the Southern Cove Rod and Gun Club in Salemville, PA. Prizes will be awarded at 3:00 pm Sunday Jan. 26, 2003.
Each hunter is responsible for the disposal of his/her varmint(s).
