I might clean mine once a year if it's one I shoot more than a few hundred times in a season. Or if one gets wet and/or muddy it gets cleaned. Others will go years between cleanings. But they all...

RE: What Are You Going To Change This Year?

I already duck hunt with 28's, 20's, 16's and 12 gauges so maybe I'll add the .410 to the mix.

RE: Question On 410 And Buckshot

My .410 H & R Topper Jr. full choke would consistently put slugs into the center of an 8" paper plate at 40 yards. You would have played heck wining a turkey shoot with it but a deer 40 or so yards...

RE: Question On 410 And Buckshot

I agree with getting him some slugs. .410 slugs can be very effective. Just make sure you get him enough to practice with.

I have no desire to own any bolt action gun. My lever guns work just fine for me. And my .308 lever gun will reach plenty far for me. Not all lever guns have a tube magazine, you can shoot any style...

RE: Busted shoulder, 20 gauge auto

I would look hard at the 1100 in 16 ga. It is as heavy as the 12 so it should be a real soft shooter. Softer than most 20 autos because of the weight.

I shoot a 20 quite often. The best 20 gauge load I've ever shot are Hevi Shot 2 3/4" 1 oz. #7 1/2 shot. It will flat out stone any size duck out to 50 yards. The new 3" Fasteel loads do a good job as...

An A-5 is a lifetime gun. Shoot it and pass it on down the line. If all you are going to do is look at it every once in a while you might as well melt it down.
