Default 16 Guage

Anybody here shoot a 16 guage? I was thinking about buying a remington 870 wingmaster in 16 guage....figured it would be pretty good for shooting ducks.

It'll work fine. I used my dad's old Browning A-5 16 guage (still my favorite shotgun of all time) for my first duck gun. If you're wanting a lighter shotgun you may consider a 20 guage because a 16 carries like a 12,but doesn'thave the same knockdown. Also, 16 guage shells are becoming harder to find due to the popularity of the 20 and 12 guages. Rick Dunn from Echo Calls uses a 20 guage in some of his videos and kills ducks fine with it. Good luck.

I agree.. Nothing wrong with the 16 other than the cost of shells.. I use my 20 guage for ducks all the time..

Sadly the 870 16 ga is built on a 12 gauge frame.

I hunt quite a bit with a Sweet-16 and a Model-12, 16 gauge and good shells can be a problem unless you order by the case. If this is going to be your main duck gun I'd recomend you go with a 12 gauge.
