Default Anyone ever used Barnes 115's for 243??

Just wondering if anyone tried it and how they did. Seems like a lot of bullet to stabilize in that gun. Thanks in advance.

I bought some at a auction and tried them but wasn't impressed with them .We only paid $6.50 a box for them . I use the 85 gr triple shocks in my 243's and they work great on deer .

Due to the weight/length issue, I'd suspect you'd have trouble stabilizing them. Never used them but unless you have a faster than normal twist I would try something a bit shorter/lighter first

I never had any luck with a .243 bullet other than a 85gr. Sierra BTHT,work's great on deer with a lung shot...

I'd imagine they'd work ok in a 9" twist like Rem used in their 6mm. I've gotten decent accuracy with Speer's 105 in a 10" .243, just didn't like the terminal performance. I've moved on to a larger caliber so haven't tried anything new.

I don't know of any Remington rifles that don't have a 1 in 9" twist that 6mm on the barrel. You can count them with a cleaning rod, put on a tight patch, mark the handle and rod so you can count the turns then measure the amount of rod you moved.
