Rubber smell on rubber boots?
I just bought me a pair of LaCrosse AlphaBurly 800 Realtree HD and I love them. I have a question though. They have that rubber smell that I cannot get rid of. Is there a special way of washing them? Does this scent transfer? Will it alert deer?

I have wondered the same thing--I know I was watching a show 2 nights ago and they were saying not so spray your boots with scent killer--saposidly it gives off a chemical reaction?? I have been spraying my boots for ever?? I dont know either what the deal is for sure--I guess I will stop spraying them maybe--

I have been wearing the Alpha Sports and Burlys for 2 years now. I spray them with scent eliminator spray when I leave my truck. I have not seen a deer get spooked while crossing my trail and have had them directly under my stand. I wouldn't worry about it.

I bought the 1200 Alpha this year at B Pro on sale. They have been hanging outside since August. No more smell. Just make sure you hang them out of the sun and upsidedown. No bust this year and have had 8-10 walk across my direct path.

I do spray mine in addition to never bringing them into the house I also wear them scouting and I go out of my way to step in deer dropings and rubbing them all over my boots, when I forst got mine I took them to a stream next to my hop=use and grabbed handfulls of mud and sand and scrubbed them and them after I was done I put mud all over them and let them dry like that, hope this helps

I just read an article last week from Florida Fish and Game..It said rubber boots were the best things for your feet ot hind the scent from your foot area. I also wear Lacrosse and LOVE them. They last for a long time.
