I keep playing back the shot in my head, how the doe came up the trail and how I made her stop and took my shot, ohhh it was such a bad shot. I can't sleep tonight. how many of you ever lose sleep and have flash backs about your hunt?

It's your conscienceness and character. You have feelings and are human and have remorse, it makes you a good person and a good hunter.

Yes, piebalddoe, I do this, that pit in the stomach, yup been there. Learn from it, embrace it and good luck in the morning.

I have a few hunts I can relive over and over. I loose sleep over the Tax Man, Banker Man and the main WoMan in my life. My kids are still young and will be added to the list soon enough.

I wish that were try Matt but there are hunters out there that have no feelings, in fact I think there are a few here, no usernames mentioned. [&:]

It has happened to all of us at some point in time. It's just a tough part of our sport but it is a reality. You'll be fine...count sheep in your head until you fall asleep!!

Rob, I fear I may indeed be one of those.....Well...not totally. I certainly have respect for the animal I've harvested, and I'm certainly ticked off with a shot that doesn't kill quickly, so ok....I guess I have a certain......soft spot for them... I once shot a deer w/ my bow that I made a horrible shot on. Right in the neck. We tracked that deer for over a mile and never found it. I was so upset it all but made me sick.....ok, maybe I have more respect than I thought I did.

But I gotta honestly tell you that I feel no remorse what so ever when I make a good, clean kill. I've said this before, that deer did not GIVE it's life to me....I took it, plain and simple. The only thing that's ever GIVEN it's life to me is the Lord Jesus. In fact, it did everything it knew to do to avoid my Stinger. I take great satisfaction in that. It's a personal pride, and it does good for my self esteem.

Yes, I replay the shot over and over as well. Only so I can relive the excitement, the moment.... Hopefully no one here thinks less of me for saying so, but that's how it is.
