Best Mechanicals for Crossbows
All,
I know there have been studies and tests done on mechanical broadheads, but which ones are best for use on crossbows? I ask this question because the power stroke is much shorter, thus the bolt accelerates much faster off the rail. This may cause premature opening of mechanical blades. Which ones do best?
Any tests of this kind 5?

RE: Best Mechanicals for Crossbows
I left the crossbow with my brother when I moved from Ohio to Virginia. Neither of us ever really used it, but it was fun playing around with it. I honestly don't know how much effect the shorter power stroke would have. You could use two rubber bands instead of one if you are worried about them opening to soon. I know Rocket recomends this for those shooting really fast setups with their mechanicals. Sorry I can't be of more help, but anything I said would be pure speculation.

I would say the rocky mountain revolution or the rocky snyper would be good. On my dads X-bow he started using 90 grain muzzy's and seems to be happy with them. before that he used NAP shockwaves & never had a problem with them opening.
