First year archery hunting. I gave up on my treestand and was hunkered down in a brush pile at the edge of an 80 acre bean field. At the other corner on the same side of the field a group of does comes out and begins working their way towards me. The light was gonna hold just long enough for an open field 30 yard shot...as long as they continued at their pace. At last light, just as they were in questionable range, they all together looked to the left and bolted. I had just about convinced myself that they winded me, or something else that was complete fluke. Just then I hear "hey" "hey" this other kid about my age is walking down the edge of the field to my left. He comes up as asks me if "Hey, did you see all those does? Man! I bet there were 20 of em!" I just stared at him. Said "Yeah, I saw 'em" He walked off without a clue. This was private land, OUR land technically. [:@][:@][:@]
