from the looks of it, it has a bull barrel and your accuracy will be great. I have never shot one but i think that with a rifle you should only need 1 shot. I just haven't heard any thing that great about the 30-06 Cal. seems like the better rifles are .270, .300 or a 7 mm mag. These are just my opinions though. Hope they help.

i have a friend who has one in .223, with a 4x scope on. i heard how he has killed lots of deer with it, the i actually do it. i was amazed that it could do that. i have also seen him hit tacks from 100yds away with it.

as for the 30.-06 i dont know. i know it will kick a tad though just because it is so short and light. depending on how big u are, i would reccommend you go lighter, like a .270 or a .223, but its just a thought

yea it will kick you for sure. 30 06 is not for the smaller frame person. the light weight stock and short barrel will only add to teh felt recoil. but go for what you want. just make sure to geta scope with lots of eye relief, so you dont creep up on her.

Ok guys I have got this New England 20 gauge single shot. I have never had problems with it and I have had it forever. Well I remember that when I bought it, it had a paper that said I could get different types of barrels for it. Like a 12 for instance. Does anyone know where I can found out about getting a new barrel?

go to [link]http://www.hr1871.com/barrelAcc/index.htm[/link]. it is the site for H&R who makes the NEF's now. their barrels will fit on your gun.
