First gun experience!
Everyone remembers their first gun! Mine was a Daisy Red Rider Lever Action BB Gun. I used to take it on toad hunts in the early morning fog. I once limited out in 1/2 acre in about 10mins. What were some of your favorite first gun memories!

RE: First gun experience!
Nice story TB...lol
My first personal gun was a Winchester pump, .20 gauge. I bought it with my own money for $250.00-when I was 13. I used guns long before that though, but that was "my" first gun. |
RE: First gun experience!
My first gun was also a Red Ryder BB gun. I think the first "real gun" I had was .410
As for shooting wise, I honestly don't remember what the first non-BB gun i shot but i do recall a time when i was about 5, doving hunting my dad. We were with a bunch of friends at the time and it was later in the season so it was pretty slow. Either i or my dad asked me if I wanted to shoot his gun, which was a 12. Browning Semi (which now is almost as old as i am). There was a soda can near by and my dad helped me shoot it but when i did, naturally everyone with hearing distance turned around in a hurry lol. I also have a similar story to TBs of slaying toads. During the summer time i would go out in the backyard at night armed with my BB gun and a flash light and shoot cockroaches lol. For my next shotgun (I still have my dad's old shotgun as well as a remington 870) I would like to get an Over/Under. |
RE: First gun experience!
my first gun was a Red Ryder BB gun I got it for my 5th birthday. I had shot other guns but this was my first personal gun. Then I got a .22 and a 16ga. Right now I still have all of those guns and I also have gotten another .22 and a .243.

RE: First gun experience!
My first "real gun" was a 22/410 I loved that gun, I gave it
to my sister this year for a christmas present. I had the gun for four years. My first BB gun was a RedRyder. I shot it at a tree and it bounced off and hit me in the arm. |
RE: First gun experience!
Well I think just about everyone has had the red rider BB guns, as for a Real gun, my first was a stevens 410 shotgun, it was my dads first gun too and he passed it on to me when I was only 6 yrs old. Of coarse I didnt go out without him for a couple years but it felt great to have it. That was 35 yrs ago and I still use it today for grouse & quail.

RE: First gun experience!
My first gun was a Daisy bb gun. I'd have to say that was my first 'real' gun because it put a 'real' hurt to several small game animals between ages 6 - today. Im still immature enough to shoot blackbirds and snakes and stuff with it. lol

HAHA! It was last year turkey Hunting and I was hunting with my Dad and Couisn Cody and We hadn't seen anything for a couple of day but we finally see one up a mountain so we got up there and sat. Me and my cousin were about 30 feet apart and my dad was about 10 feet in back of us calling the turkeys in. Well he was calling them and they started to go farther and farther. But in back of me i could hear leaves crunching. And then all of a sudden i hear my dad go SCAT! and A Cyot came running inbetween me and my cousin. My Dad yells shoot. And I cant get my safety off because I was so Nervous. I was upset I didnt shoot him but I still got a turkey and had a great time.

RE: First gun experience!
Got a pellet gun from my Opa that my dad and uncles had used when they were young. I was extremely exited that I was actually old enough for my very own gun. I used it for a few years before I bought a new air gun but I still like that gun better than the new one that I have got rid of since.
