Here in Alberta, you can take the hunting course or challenge the test. and if you pass the test you can hunt. I took the test last year and passed with 94%.

I took mine last year when i was 13, i had been involved with hunting so much before that i slept throug every class and got a perfect score on the test and in the field, and was the first one done. have to give credit to my older sisters boyfriend for takin me out hunting several times before i took the course.
