Go expandables. I wont use them for deer, but i like them for turkey. Go with a wide cut, like the Vortex or Rocket mini blaster. 75 grains should work, im going to use the 100 grain vortex cause i can get a 2 1/2 inch cutting diameter with them. Try not to use a fixed blade with a stopper, they sometiems bounch off the birds.

If you dont mind me askin, how were you loosin one out of two turkeys? Like, were they blowing through, or not cutting enough, or what was the deal. Im not arguing, just kinda curious. I know i used fixed blades with a stopper behind them, and besides the added weight, they didnt seem to do the right damage. The wide expandables allways worked pretty good, but, like you said, just personal experience. What expandables were you usin.

i never tried turkey with a bow, id like to but it seems extremely hard cause turkeys have excellent eyesight and all, it would seem hard to draw w/o being seen.
By the way, I have a Browning Micro Midas II, 70% letoff, 24 inch draw. Bow can be adjusted from 18- 28 inch draw length. |

Man, I really don't know what was going on. Out of the turkeys that my dad, my uncle, and I shot this fall, we were having a really hard time finding them. We were using the rocket aeroheads. They are awesome on deer, but not so impressive on turkeys. They were going through too easily is my opinion. I really don't like to lose animals so it really made me sick after we would lose one. We shot them just above the leg. I have heard that is the best place to pop a turkey. I don't know, I just hope I can find a broadhead that works before the season opens. BB
