Yea i recomend it. Either a .22, small shotgun, or bow. I like to bowhunt them. But, then you dont get as many. But you also dont have to clean as many either.

Squirrel hunting is great! I use a mossberg 500 20 ga. in the early part of the season then when the leaves fall off I use a Remington speedMaster .22 with a bushnell scope.

I have gone after squirrels with an bow with not luck. I think it was the more weather then anything because I only saw one that i just barely missed (just over its head) but i recommand an 22 scope or no scope. Handguns and high powered rifles are a slight overkill. Shotgun is ok for longer shots but get too close then you'd be lucky to find a tail or part of it (speaking from experience, ooops [X(])

Squirrel hunting is awesome. I use a Rem 870 12 ga with 6 shot and a full choke. It's good for making those running shots and I think its more fun to shoot than a .22. If you want to shoot squirrels take a shotgun, if you want to try to snipe'em out use a 22. I do use a bow for them when I'm bowhunting for deer. It's fun to shoot them that way too. But you have to be a good shot or you will ruin your arrows.
