Hunters Education Course
I am a PA resident but I am attending school in Virginia. I am interested in taking a hunters safety course and I have a question. Can I take the VA safety course and then buy a resident hunting license in PA?
|
you should be able to. if im not mistaken hunters ed is good for most if not all the states.
I would wait for someone else to chime in before taking my word on this. |
This is right off the PA website:
Successful completion of a basic Pennsylvania HTE class, or another state’s equivalent course, is required by state law to obtain a first-time hunting or furtaker license, regardless of age. |
You will be fine, there is no residency requirements for taking the hunter ed course, can take it any state,
When applying for hunters license/permit in pa they will then check your license for pa residency and then hunter ed certificate from any state |
Yes, you will be fine. PA will accept that. I took mine in OH and only hunted PA my first couple of years.

You should be OK. Good Luck in the upcoming season, be safe out there.
