hey everyone... i just have this little story to tell about my paintballing scars galore adventure... just thought that it was worth sharing... i got invited to a paintball tournament with a bunch of friends from school which turned out to be about 30 people total... i just happened to be the only girl there because i' m the only one interested in it and find the pain to be worth the fun... not that it' s that painful... it just is when stuff like this happens.... after playing for about 4 hours with teams we all got bored and decided to play every man for himself with all of our velocities turned all the way up in a pretty heavily wooded area with a patch of field inbetween... most of us hunt so we were all practicing our hunting skills on eachother... so i got the bright idea that i would track them all and find them.... not smart since they all decided to play " get the girl" .... which was not to my knowledge... so i' m stalking them and they know i' m stalking them because they know thats what i do.... well to make it a little shorter i end up in that small patch of field surrounded by trees with all of them on all sides of me.... them forgetting that their velocities were turned all the way up... they lit me up from all sides and each paintball tore my skin open... i fired back iwth completely bloody arms until one guy from about 8 feet away hits me dead center of my back just below my neck and i could feel my skin split wide open.... with that one i dropped to my knees and surrendered.... the paintball hit me so hard i could barely feel my arms and legs for about 5 minutes while my back bled gushingly and puss followed after... i had the shards of the outer part of the paintball lodged in my skin which later had to be taken out with tweezers.... it has almost completely healed now and i have many little circle scars on my arms mainly and one huge one on the center of my back... i' m actually rather pround of them.... interesting stories to tell my kids lol... so in short play it safe or don' t play but have fun

Damn. Thats all i have to say. I dont play paintball cause im to much of a woosy, plus if I shoot somethin, i want it to go down for good, people shoot back. lol. Sounds like you had fun though, exept for the pain and profuse bleeding of course. lol

AWW man thats sucks!! I play paintball all the time but I never had it that bad before! I mean the last couple times we played at this speedball course I got sick of staying back and slowing going forward so Id just run flat out across the field toward the other guys and usually they hide for the first 5 seconds of start which gives me some time to get there but i get one or two normally but walk away with some nastey ones I had a few green paint shots mixed with blood but never really bad like getting them stuck in me but dang it hurts without the blood and I can only imagine!!!!!!

Never played it before but i have so many scars it wouldn' t matter much lol. But at least this will give me an idea of what its like to get hit by one.

dang i have paintballed before but never had my skin broken by it. its lots of fun but i always wear lots of cloths.

well i should have just kept my mouht shut with the lots of cloths thing. i went out wiht some friends yesterday and i only had a sweat shirt on well anyways i was going to do some 7 on one me against 7 well all i wanted was a 60 sec head start well i started running and they only gave me about 4 secs and all 7 of them opened fire i got hit 20 some times and was just covered in welts.. but it didnt break the skin[:o]

anybody hear about that kid who was killed by a paintball? I just found out earlier tonight. i' ll keep everyone informed when i learn more, all i know is he was hit in the temple.

Well yeehaw!! that sounds like fun, I always love uneven odds like that, of course we alway play in MY woods, so they have yet to ever sucessfuly ambush me, and they' ve tried. the usual game is one of my friends (who lives close by and also knows the woods well) and I against everyone else. we' ve only lost once that I can remember. so thats always what everone wants to do is try and take us two on...I just love seing the shock on peoples faces when I shoot them or make them surrender and they had no idea I was there...only feet away. I' ve never really been shot badly though, I usually only get limb hits if I get shot at all. I' ve never really been hit square on in any vital area before. excpet for a few face mask hits, I do have a couple paintball related scars though. from crawling through patches of thorn bushes,running into barbed wire, that sorta thing...but I' ve never had a painball break the skin before...!! something you might want to try though, one of our favorite games when we get bored with the usual, is shoot out tournaments. you start out back to back and take a certain number of paces (the number depends on exactly how brave you and your opponent are..;)) counting outloud, and then turn and fire, you cannot move your feet once you' ve turned, and you only get three shots. it can be pretty fun...

Yea... I' ve had that happen before, but I love it! I just love laying in some weeds with my camo on and sniping anyone that walks by. So fun.

geez thats crazy ive played a couple times i got hit in the hand from bout five feet away it broke the skin i thought it broke my hand but im glad ya had fun

I use a tippman custom model but sometimes i use my boyfriend' s M-4 lookalike which is the coolest painball gun ever...its great for halloween lol

Paintball.. I play speedball and sometimes Ref the hyperball/speedball/airball courses. I shoot an Impulse right now, Worst shot i've ever had happen to me, This 9 year old kid was shooting hot (650 fps) and lit up my entire left arm when i came to bunker his buddies. Anyway, black, blue, swollen, skin torn.

Needless to say i stopped the game and got everyone to chrony.

Huntinggirl, people get seriously seriously hurt when the velocities exceed 300 (tourney limit) the mask lens can break (only gaurenteed to 300) people can die like mentioned above.

And redhawk, that wouldn't happen if the guy that was killed worn a mask. Much like hunting, there is alot of people that despise the sport of paintball.
Every single effort is made to make sure people wear properly working, strong masks. These kind of things happen. People lose eye-site. Or in this case, die.

650 fps? That kid might as well have shot you with a round ball muzzleloader...

We shot around 215 fps in the indoor range down here back in the day...

Outside we usually shoot around 300...280...in that range...usually won't let us go 300 though cause they chrono every time...

Ain't no-tellin how hot we shoot when we play pick-up games at the house....probably 315-325...and that crap hurts...

And I don't layer up anymore either...makes some nice witness marks...that's for sure...

man, alls i wear when i play, is a very thin breathing jersey, and slide pants. I've been shot in the balls before. i just dropped my gun and held and shouted out curse words, there's no describing the pain. But i now wear a cup because of that.
