Default last minute bambi

well this year in maine is even worse then last as far as our numbers being way way down. our heard is in poor shape. everyone i know is having a hard time even finding a track!!! i did see a 7 point at 8 yds opening day and didnt shoot cuz it was opening day and was lookin for a better buck. well that backfired again like last season (also shot my deer on the last day). i didnt see another deer alllllllllllllllllll month long untill tonight. this big ol grey face come trottin along w/ two skippers behind her. they started blowin and havin a fit and she wasnt slowin down so i ****ed the hammer and then it was powder burn time. 80 grains of FFg and a 350 gr honady FPB. not overly impresed w/ the bullet but not too discouraged either.deer is dead after all.

Nice 'un. Glad you got a tag filled. I'd have guessed the 350fpbs would be better cooking along a little hotter, considering the copper. But was there overexpansion?

no not really. about 1/2 its orig. dia. it was a total soft tissue hit so it wasnt a fair trial. it is only moving about 1210-1230fps out of that 18" katahdin barrel and im not 100% sure what hornady says min. velocity is on this new bullet. they shoot decent and load really well in the t/c which is amazing in itself.
