I work for my dad at $10 an hour. We do sandblasting and painting. Right now we are sandblasting and primering some steel joists that are 87 feet long. There is 30 of them and it will take us a little while. We sandblast 7-8 hours a day then we paint for about 2-3 hours.
When I sandblast I get paid $15 an hour but when I tend the pots or watch over my dad and my brother sandblasting then I only get $10. Still great money though.
Recently we have had 100+ degree weather and we have been roasting so bad! Its hot as hell. Seriously. The sandblasting helmets have air conditioners but they dont work all that great and when I tend the pots I dont have any air conditioning. I have to sit in the sun all day. Its quite boring.
