ya... i shot with a .50 cal... it put a huge hole in his neck where i hit him because he was on the move... 2nd one of the year
just curious what the hell makes the size of the hole different if he was "on the move" or sitting pretty? hahaha i think the story was stretched a little eh?!

My guess is he wasnt aiming for the neck but because he was "moving", that's where he hit it.

a 50 cal will put a big hole whereever you hit it... But yes where you hit it doesnt effect the size of the whole, but still im sure it was all legal so cant we all just say congratz?

first off i dont even like you. and second we are all proud of the young fella. trapping is a trickey gamebut it seems as though the story is a bit fabricated perhaps

I agree its hard to trap a coyote, I trap myself so I know firsthand. I think the problem we're all seeing here is that we were told he shot it "on the move" as though it was running or roaming free, when in fact it was in a trap the whole time.

RE: coyote

I dont trap firsthand but have seen it done, why would you use a 50 cal to shoot an animal in a trap when a .22 to the head woud would work better and cause less damage to the pelt?

RE: coyote

Maybe it was running around in a circle trying to get out of the trap like the fox I trapped this yearwas doingwhen I tried to shoot it???

Honestly skybuster, I didn't even notice the trap in the photo until now so my bad. I was just saying what I thought happend so there was no pun intended.
