If money is a problem, try used. My husband got his Browningfor $150, although it's probably obsolete now. My Pro-line youth bow, probably also obsolete, was purchased at a yard sale for $15. Got my first deer with it that same season. (Couldn't hunt last year because of the baby.)

Definatly go used. You can get them pretty cheap if you just look around.

if you are lookng at 40-50 pounds try a used good one. You could get one pretty decent in the 200-250 range, adn still have some money left over.
