Default Adventures of security work

I admit, I don't have the best paying job in the world right now but been doing it for four years and it supports mini red hawk so it is all good until I can get into law lol. Tomorrow Ihave towork atIce Cube concert which will be here in my home town.

This happened Sunday:

I was pulling security at this Mexican Fiesta/Rodeo that comes usually every couple of weeks. The riding and such is during the day but we get there after that is over and mainly watch for trouble when the band is playing. Most of the fights happen in the V.I.P section which is fenced in but isn’t very big. There is small dance floor right next to that. There weren’t nearly as many people this week because not too many people knew about it. So my guess was there was maybe about 300-500 people who were coming and going, which is considered slow believe it or not. There is about 12 of us (the company I am in), plus about 8 other from another security, and then about 10 event security so close to 30 of us total. The main problem within that area is fights and underage drinking. I and another guy were walking out in the parking lot making sure people weren't loitering and such. Main problem out there is that, and cars hadbeen stolen out there in recent weeks. I think it was about 930ish or so, about the time alcohol and stupidity kicks in so we are on our toes quite bit after that time. Anyway, Gus (the other guard) was walking down another section not too far from me. The parking lot is middle of dirt lot but there are quite few lights so we can see pretty well out there. I noticed Gus was walking towards this guy and girl who seem to be arguing. I started walking that way too, then all of sudden, the guy straight out hits the girl smack in the face. Gus was running (he is about 45 so he couldn’t run too well) towards him and I did the same; I was much faster then both Gus and thedude that just smacked the girl, plus the guy was drunk so he wasn’t going to get away either way. As he was running I noticed something was sticking out of his pocket, I figured it was cell phone judging by the shape but the fact he just did felony spousal abuse, I could physicaly restrain him. I caught up with him as he was tryingto runthe frontgate/fence (or at least that direction)and into field to hide. I literally tackled him from behind, and no clue what I hit my knee on but it hurt something horrible but didn’t feel it at that time due to adrenaline. I’m certified to carry handcuffs so after about 5 second struggle, I was able to cuff him. Back up (about 10 of our guys showed up, including my boss who was working there too) finally arrived. The police came about 10 minutes later and arrested the guy. After the adrenaline left, that is when I felt the pain in my left knee but was being trooper about it and continued walking around until it was time to go home.

I love my job sometimes

It's not good enough for you just to make sure nothing goes wrong in real life, you had to do the same job here! LOL

You have to admit it's got to be better than sitting in a cubicle all day, at the least you get to jump on guys!
