Haha my specialty ;)

Well if you do not have catfish, you could simply make a trap with a thick and long piece of string. Put a large treble hook on one end and tie it to a dock or tree on the other. Use meat, pieces of fish, or liver for bait. Check periodically.

If you do have catfish, then you could go out and buy a turtle trap, which looks a long hose net. You can use the other method as well, but check it more often in case you get a catfish instead of a turtle.

A third method would be to catch him with your fishing pole and a fourth would be to catch him with your hands.

Ive had success with all 4.

*** As a note, this is for Snapping Turtles, and possibley Softshell's

I hate snapping turtles. One day we were driving down the road and there was a snapping turtle in the way, so my dad stops, we both get out, and I try pushing on it for the back with my foot. next thing I know the B*****d jumps up about 4 inches and does a 180!! Scared the heck out of me. Never expected a turtle to jump like that!! Oh and it also snapped at us. My dad then decided to drive around it instead.:D

haha, you can catch them by hand... but avoid the neck.... It will surprise you how long that neck is..... Also, although not quick movers they kind of "lunge" they have a little quick first step, kinda like Allen Iverson....

haha^^ No worries there lots of people won't..... I grew up around animals my whole life. I used to always watch Steve Irwin and such on TV and try and do what he did.I've caught lots of things by hand your not supposed to touch

The only problem with grabing them by the neck is theirclaws,it helps to where some thivk gloves. And onyl go for the neck if the tail is covered up, it helps to try and get him tobite a stickso that he extends his neck and then you can grab it.

RE: turtle

good advice, don't try and pull the neck from the shell, let the turtle extend it's head first hah

We eat them, and keep the shells for trophys. Fried turtle and turtle soup is the best :D
