RE: Hunting safety class.
A whole week!!!!! Wow they're really serious in your state. Mine was only a day and a half. It was pretty easy because my husband had already taught me everything.
The thing they really emphasized was identifying your target and accounting for what's behind your target. The worst thing you can do is shoot at some movement in the brush. Guys have shot their own kids that way. Hunting and shooting is about the most fun you can haveafter a couple of other things. ![]() |

and silent, very nice. i had to do the same thing back 6 years ago now. really not to tough to get through if you can manage to stay awake. if its a week long....how long do you have to spend in the classroom each day? surely not to long |

RE: Hunting safety class.
i took it when i could (11 i believe, might have been 10?)
ive been shooting ever since i could hold a gun. and hunting since i could walk |
RE: Hunting safety class.
Ours was 2 days, one full day in the class room and part of the day taking the test, getting your hunters ed certification. A week seems pretty long but with some of the kids in my hunters safety class, i would have rather gone a week.

RE: Hunting safety class.
Mine was three days, saturdays actually. We did in the classroom stuff for a couple hours, then they spoke about how to shoot a certain gun(hand-gun, shotgun, and rifles) before takeing us to the range to go shooting. I cant imagine it takeing more then three days, but some of the hunters i have seen need it to be a semester-long course if its going to sink into them

RE: Hunting safety class.
We never even went to a range...
|
RE: Hunting safety class.
Mine was over a 2 week period, 3 days per week, 3 hours long. We didn't get to shoot at all, but we did get to hold some guns.

RE: Hunting safety class.

RE: Hunting safety class.
mine was 4 weeks but 2 days a week. I took it when i was 11. Ive been hunting every since i could walk and shooting once i could hold a gun up

RE: Hunting safety class.
oh my god your guys' is long
mine was one weekend with like 7 hour a day classes. i would of got a 100% even if i didnt sit through all the lectures. they should make it a tougher test here in Missouri IMO |
RE: Hunting safety class.
I've shot a gun before(mini 14 semi-auto:D) but I couldent go to the ranges or anything. It's 3 hours a day and then we get to go to the range for a day. WA takes this stuff Very seriously. The class goes over rifles, shotguns, pistols,ML,bows and how not to die in the wildeness. You cant Legaly shoot guns or hunt if you dont take the class. and if you dont take the class and you get cought you can get in lot's of troble.
