Harry Potter?

When i was younger, when the Harry Potter books came out i became an avid reader and read books 1-4. Well i got away from them for several years. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was on Cinemax the other night and i watched it as nothing was on t.v. I am now hooked again on Harry Potter. I started looking and found out i have Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix so i read 7 chapters yesterday and found myself saying 1 more page, just 1 more page and 7 chapters later the only reason i put the book down is because i fell asleep i was so tired and it was so late. I'm looking forward to reading the next 2 books when i'm finished. Just wondered if there were any Harry Potter fans here of either the books, the movies or both? i love both, i think the movies compliment the books very well.

Books are always better than the movies, even though i prefer to watch the movie.

I 100% agree. One book i can't beleive they didn't make a movie for was 1984, unless they did, but if i've never heard of it it must have been crappy.

RE: Harry Potter?

have you guys ever compared the book Point of Impact to the movie Shooter? shooter was based on Point of Impact, yet they only have a few simularities

Canadian Chic 05-12-2008 08:49 AM

RE: Harry Potter?

the movies are good but theysuck compared to the books, they leave 80% of the book out and then they put the wrong scenes together just to save time!

i use to read them all the time and i got out of it when the last two books took forever to come out

RE: Harry Potter?

here are some pics off my ol mans digital camera of what we did yesterday and today. yesterday i dug that hole for the main house, bulk head, and the bomb shelter (the big pad footing on the left. i dunno why they want a bomb shelter) and breezeway today we set and poured all the footings you see there. the maine house is 72' long by 40 feet wide then the breezeway and bulk head are 15 dergree angles off that then we will pour the garage another 15 degrees so the finishedproduct will be a semi-circle shape

Grown Men shouldn't like reading? I started reading those books in high school, i'm 2 years out of high school and i haven't finished the series. There are plenty of adults that read the literary works of J.K. Rowling. To think otherwise is quite foolish and proves how ignorant you are about literature, especially popular literature. There not one of the best selling series ever without appealing to more than just children. I read my share of adult books, its ok for me to read Harry Potter.

P.S. An Immature BOY has no ground to stand on telling a "Grown Man" what to do. Remember "It's better to appear ignorant and remain silent, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt" ;)

I don't think so, that was one book we DIDN't have to read. I really enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird, Night by Elie Wiesel and 1984-George Orwell.

Mossberg don't mind my comment to you, i was in a crappy mood yesterday. Where the Red Fern Grows is awesome!! Thats the story about the that kid and his Blue Tick Hounds right? I don't want to confuse one story with another.
