tell them if u get abducted by some insane serial killer........you would not be able to communicate with them and he would kill you but if u have a cell phone,you could call 911 and be saved lol just thinkin outside the box

that wouldnt work my parents are the kind of parents that say i dont care what everyone else got on the test i just care about you and they wont buy me a truck i have to pay for it etc.

You don't NEED a cell phone, its a want. My mom wouldn't pay for my phone, she said i want one i pay the monthly bill. You agree to pay the bill, no reason why i see them not allowing you to have one.

If your parents already have cell phones...... I'd suggest telling them how cheap it is to add a phone to their account on their / a family plan.....

to get a cell phone for one person will run you about $50/month or more to add a cell phone, ie your new cell phone to their account could cost as little as $10/month.

And yes its 2008, and its dangerous out there, advise them having a cell phone could save your life.....

yea, i think you should have to pay for your own stuff. you respect it more. but isnt the name of this thread "how can i convince my parents to get a cell ph.? it just sounded likeyou wanted them to get it for you. my bad
