well where i hunt theyre by far the hardest thing ive ever hunted, and i happen to eat what i kill too
I'll agree with you there. Around my place, they are really hard to hunt. But hnt24.7 never has a problem killing turkeys up there where he lives, and he is only 30 miles north of me.

Alright. Many of you are too young to remember or weren't here, but back when this board first got started up there was a man here named Cardeer. He prided himself on hunting without camo. He's a god among men in his own right and respected by many people here. I'd love to see you guys go to the offseason and say he didn't know what he was doing.

My question is, if I'm going to be sitting behind a stone wall all day, why do I need camo? Do I really have to be invisible? No. I never said you couldn't use camo, so stop being all defensive about it. All I said was that its not for me, not in the spring. I don't need it and never have.

I deal with city folk coming up here all the time with thousands of dollars of worthless equipment and they rely on their gear for a good hunt. They think that because they have everything top of the line, its a guarantee that they'll get a good bird. Not true. Just saying don't put your gear ahead of your own knowledge of hunting.

I never have and I never will put my gear before my knowledge....When I say camo Im saying "concealment"

If your behind a stone wall then your concealed...its not like the turkeys can see through a wall

I think were not really understanding what each other is saying...to me it sounds like you are saying you dont need to hide from the turkeys and you can just walk out in the middle of the flock with your jekey and mossberg and take your pick...if your behind something where they cant see you then I guess you could be wearing hot pink..it wouldn't really matter

There is no denying that turkeys have amazing eyesight and you do still have to stay hidden from them

I wasn't trying to start up an argument. It just kinda threw me for a loop when you said you dont need camo, and Im sure you can understand where Im coming from....just like I can do the same for you

Not trying to make anyone mad...but a good debate is always fun

They can be smart when they wanna be, but their vision is based much like a reptile, on movement. So long as I stay put and don't move, I don't need a ghillie suit
